MiFinanz

Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Effective date: 28 September 2026. Last updated: 28 September 2026.

These terms are a contract between you and Omar Tamasna, an individual developer in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, for the MiFinanz website, web app, and iOS app. These terms are available in English and German. Both versions are equally valid.

By creating an account, or by continuing to use MiFinanz after the effective date, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account.

1. The service

MiFinanz is a personal budget tracker. You enter records yourself, or you import a JSON or CSV file. You can keep money accounts, transactions, transfers, budgets, invoices, goals, and assets and liabilities, and you can export a copy. Some features require MiFinanz Pro (see Section 7).

MiFinanz does not connect to your bank. It does not hold deposits, transmit money, or provide a payment account. Sharing a money account lets another MiFinanz user see or edit records. It does not move money between people.

2. Not advice

MiFinanz is a record-keeping tool. It is not a bank, broker, accountant, or adviser. Totals, budgets, net worth, and exchange rates are calculations for your own information. They are not financial, tax, legal, or investment advice, and they are not an offer or a recommendation. Exchange rates come from a public third-party feed and can be delayed or wrong. You are responsible for your own decisions and for checking anything that matters with a qualified person.

3. Accounts

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Suspension is done by staff and can block sign-in. The owner role can also delete an account.

5. Your records

You keep ownership of the records you enter. You give us permission to host, back up, display, and process them only so we can provide, secure, and support MiFinanz, as described in the Privacy Policy. That permission ends when the data is deleted, except for copies we are allowed or required to keep (for example an audit log, a payment record, or a short-lived backup).

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for keeping your own export if you want a copy outside the service. We can refuse or remove content that breaks these terms.

6. Sharing

If sharing is available on your plan, you may invite another person by email as a viewer or an editor of a money account you own. Both people need an active Pro subscription. A viewer can read that account’s transactions. An editor can add and change them. The ledger remains yours. You can remove the share. We do not send the invite by email; the other person sees it in MiFinanz if they use the same email address.

7. Free plan and MiFinanz Pro

Free plan. MiFinanz has a free plan. It includes:

MiFinanz Pro. Pro includes everything in the free plan, plus:

Both the person who shares an account and the person invited need an active Pro subscription.

How Pro is sold. Pro is currently sold only in the iOS app, as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple In-App Purchase, with a monthly or a yearly billing period. The price, billing period, and any free trial are shown in the app before you confirm the purchase. Prices can differ by country and include any taxes Apple charges.

Free trial. New subscribers can get a free trial of 2 weeks. Eligibility is decided by Apple and is usually limited to one trial per Apple ID. At the end of the trial, the subscription turns into a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you buy a subscription during a trial, any unused part of the trial ends.

Payment and renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends. The subscription renews automatically for the same period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.

Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings (on iPhone: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting your MiFinanz account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings.

Refunds. Purchases made through Apple are billed and refunded by Apple under Apple’s terms. We cannot issue refunds for Apple purchases ourselves. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Your mandatory consumer rights are not affected, including any right of withdrawal you have under consumer law or Apple’s terms.

Apple’s terms. Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions apply to the purchase in addition to these terms. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for MiFinanz.

Price changes. We may change the price of Pro for future billing periods. Apple will tell you about a price change in advance and, where required, ask for your consent. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for.

End of a subscription. If your Pro subscription ends, your account returns to the free plan. We do not delete your Pro data. Pro-only items, such as additional money accounts and their transactions, additional goal vaults, invoices, and net worth entries, are kept. While you are on the free plan, these items are hidden in the app, and you cannot add to them or change them. The money account and the goal vault you created first stay available on the free plan. Sharing a money account pauses as soon as the owner or the invited person no longer has an active Pro subscription; the invited person then cannot see the shared account until both have Pro again. The share itself is kept. When you subscribe to Pro again, your Pro items become available again. Your data backup (JSON export) includes all of your own records, including items that are hidden on the free plan. If you delete your account, these items are deleted as well (see Section 8).

8. Ending the service

You may stop using MiFinanz at any time. Delete the account under Settings → Delete Account. That removes the login and the database rows tied to it, as the Privacy Policy describes. It does not by itself cancel an Apple subscription; cancel that in your Apple ID settings.

We may suspend or delete an account, or discontinue a feature or the whole service, if you break these terms, if we must do so to comply with the law, or if we stop offering MiFinanz. If we discontinue the service and it is practical, we will give you a way to export your records first. Reset Application clears financial records and keeps the login. It is not the same as deleting the account.

9. Disclaimers

MiFinanz is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that totals and exchange rates will be accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow a disclaimer of certain warranties. In that case, the disclaimer applies only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that mandatory law does not allow us to limit. That includes mandatory consumer rights in Switzerland and, where they apply, in the EU or EEA.

Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data you could have exported, or decisions you make using the app. Our total liability arising out of the service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for MiFinanz in that period. If you paid nothing, the limit is CHF 100.

11. Changes

We may change these terms. The new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. If you keep using MiFinanz after that date, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, delete your account before the new date. We do not run a mailing list for terms updates. Where the law requires a direct notice, we will use the email on the account.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding conflict-of-law rules that would send the contract to another country’s law, and without taking away protection that mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you.

The courts of the Canton of Zurich, Switzerland, have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rule that lets a consumer sue or be sued in the courts of their home country. You can also contact us first at support@mifinanz.com and we will try to resolve the issue.
